About Woodson Southwest:
Woodson Southwest is a father-and-son team that was formed just two years after reading an article in the Wall Street Journal describing the exciting developments in the Barnett Shale natural gas play in the Fort Worth basin. We decided to become better informed about the Barnett Shale because of a modest inheritance of mineral rights in Johnson County on which we received a number of offers to purchase. When we researched the offers we realized that they were extremely low.
Before long we reached a point in our learning curve where we realized that to become competent we had to make a much greater investment in time and money – or simply sell out. We decided to invest in additional mineral properties in Johnson County.
Woodson Southwest is the operating affiliate of Enterprise Management, LLC. We have been successful in acquiring additional mineral rights (we do not buy surface acreage) predominantly in Johnson County. We have limited our geographical area of operation to Johnson, Hill and Tarrant counties in order to become experts in valuing properties in this area of the Barnett Shale play.
